Alt -Ed welcomes the new school nurse, Eliza Hailstock. Ms. Hailstock is a mother to 4 beautiful daughters. She graduated from Allegheny Community College, and got her associates degree. She then went to Stevenson University where she received her masters degree in nursing education. Originally Eliza wanted to be a midwife. Instead she got a job at Johns Hopkins where she specialized in geriatric rehabilitation which is physical therapy for the elderly. Ms. Hailstock loves the responsibilities and duties of being a nurse.  This is Ms. Hailstock’s first experience working in a school, and she believes the Alternative Education Program is an excellent opportunity for young adults in Harford County. She lists colds, sore throats, and ear aches as  the most common complaints so far this year. School nurses have a very strict procedure they must follow, but if something is out of their hands they must call 911. We are happy to welcome her to Alt-Ed and wish her a successful school year.
