Here at AEP/CEO, I sat in two of our classes, and it’s ridiculous.  I was only in each class  for 15 min each class, and profanity was used 22 times. In the second class it was 28 times. Half of the profanity came from one student. I also gave a survey, and everyone said that profanity is not attractive and a lot of people said that cursing won’t get you anywhere.  Most people agree that profanity does not make you happy when it is used so my next question to them was: How often do you hear students use profanity? Most students said that they hear students  use profanity 9-10 times per class but also one person said 1-2 times per class.

I wonder how often you use profanity?  What really makes you use profanity?

Everyone except 1 student said anger and stress and just being upset make people use bad language. According to my survey, the f… word is the one that offends people the most. Some people say that profanity makes them feel powerful and happy. In the end, we are going to have to all work together on our profanity even though different people have different limits and breaking points.
